Milo N. Gonser

Milo N. Gonser is an attorney with 32 years of experience practicing law in the Denver Metropolitan area. Milo is the managing partner of the law firm of Gonser and Associates, P.C.. Milo received his law degree from the University of Denver in 1973.

Milo was born and raised in a lumber camp in the upper peninsula of Michigan where winter reigns from October through May. Milo attended and graduated from Northern Michigan University which is located in Marquette, Michigan (not to be confused with Marquette University). With the military draft (something few of those under 35 remember) breathing down his neck in the 1960's, he enlisted in the Navy where he attended Naval Justice School and became a qualified court reporter.

Upon completion of his enlistment, Milo faced the end of the Vietnam era slightly disillusioned and with an undergraduate degree in History and Political Science. Unfortunately, such degrees were not in high demand or readily marketable so Milo decided to take his G.I. benefits and tackle law school, so that he might emerge with a marketable skill. Graduation from law school followed and he opened an office in Lakewood, Colorado where the firm resided for 19 years before moving to its present Denver location.

When Milo first began practicing law, he handled construction related cases because of his background in construction (his father was a contractor). In addition to construction cases, since 1984, Milo has increasingly focused his practice in the areas of business and employment law. Although most lawyers who work in the employment area exclusively represent the employers or the employees only, Milo represents both employers and employees in matters involving claims under state and federal law in both the public and private sectors. This representation has included claims involving discrimination (including age, sex, race, ancestry, religion and disabilities) wages and compensation, employee handbooks, policies and procedures, harassment, retaliatory discharge, Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, and a number of other employment related issues. Milo has also represented public employees and employers in special districts, local, state, and federal government.
